Many women lack the resources to obtain feminine products that they need every month.

That's why B Team Buffalo is helping to fill this void with their Pints for Pads Event this Wednesday.

The fundraiser will take place on Wednesday, April 27th from 5:30 to 8:30 at Mr. Goodbar on the 2nd floor, 1110 Elmwood Avenue in Buffalo.  Admission is the cost of a pack of pads or tampons, or a 10 dollar donation, which covers one drink and snacks.

The fundraiser benefits Buffalo City Missions for Women, Cornerstone Manor, and the Westminster Community Charter School which B Team Buffalo had their City of Light Festival in December. The school is located in the Buffalo Promise Neighborhood according to WIVB

"There's such a stigma around acquiring pads and tampons, and a lot of times younger students don't necessarily have access to them," Liz Reaves, fundraising chair for B Team Buffalo said. "Women will miss work because they don't have the extra money or the access to the products."

Reaves mentions how lack of feminine hygiene products is still an issue in the United States

"I can't tell you how many people I've told about this event and they're blown away that this is still an issue- that there are people living in our country and our city who don't have access to feminine hygiene products," Reaves said. "This is an area of inequality for us- it's something that not every woman is able to obtain."

If you can't come to the fundraiser, you can also donate by emailing  info@bteambuffalo.com or donating directly to Cornerstone Manor.
