As we approach the middle of October, the fall season is gaining a firm grip on the Western New York region. Halloween is quickly approaching, and the smell of apple crisp and pumpkin spice is wafting all through the air in Buffalo like Cheerios on a summer day.

With us coming up on the 41st weekend of 2026, the year is quickly going away and, while there are only 11 more weekends to go this year, there are tons of things happening all over the 716 for you to do to keep your to-do list full of fun and other activities.

Looking back on what we've already had in Western New York this month should give you great hopes for what's to come. Both the Bills and Sabres grabbed victories at home so far, with the Sabres playing again tonight at the KeyBank Center after grabbing a great victory on Tuesday. This, of course, means a filled KeyBank Center in downtown Buffalo for multiple nights this week, giving the bars in town a nice boost.

But there's a lot more to do this weekend, and we've got a nice guide to it all for you below.

What's Happening This Weekend?

Since it's a holiday weekend, we've got a few extra days to hang out. From Friday, October 9, 2026, through Monday, October 12, 2026, there are tons of things you can get into all over Western New York.

This is just a sampling of great things happening in Western New York this weekend. If you have an event that people need to know about, let us know, and we'll highlight it if we can.
