There are plenty of uniquely-named area businesses here in Western New York, but let’s be honest - a few are downright hilarious.

The first time I ever drove past an Amigone Funeral Home location over fifteen years ago, I honestly thought it was a joke. “Are you serious?!” I exclaimed to my friend, clutching over and almost snorting,

“Yup. That’s real,” my friend who was driving said with an exasperated sigh, clearly sick of the question. “Everyone from out of town thinks it’s fake.”

Now that I live here, I’m of course used to driving past an Amigone Funeral Home several times a week; and even though seeing an Amigone sign is commonplace for me now, I still can’t help but giggle just a little when I pass one by.
