Grand Island Police Find 65 Pounds of Cocaine Smuggled in Car
Kudos to the Grand Island Police Officers who were extremely observant. According to a WKBW News Story, upon seeing one of those huge hauling trucks delivering cars to a Toyota Dealer on Alvin Rd., Grand Island Police Officers noticed a Mercury SUV on the hauling truck rack along with the Toyotas being delivered. The officers became even more suspicious when all of the vehicles were unloaded with the exception of the Mercury, which it seemed strange that a Mercury vehicle would be on the dame truck delivering Toyota vehicles.
When Officers pulled the suspicious truck over they identified the driver as 38 year-old Edgar Joel Jimenez-Rodriguez, and found 30 kilograms (equivalent to 65 pounds) of cocaine, according to News Reports.
According to the WKBW News Story, the amount of cocaine found,
carries a mandatory minimum penalty of 10 years in prison, a maximum of life and a $10,000 fine.
