I’m going to be real with you

Since my mom passed in 2022 I haven’t been consistent in the gym. It’s like my motivation just wasn’t there, and instead of dealing with it, I adjusted, I started dressing to cover up the weight instead of doing something about it

But the moment that really checked me was simple, I was playing with my nephew and got out of breath way too fast. That moment sat with me, and I said, " Enough is enough. It’s time to get back to me

So I told one of my friends I needed to get back on my gym rat energy. She said bet Not even moments later, I get a text 6 AM spin class at Revolution, you coming?

Now, let me be clear 6 AM is a commitment

But I’ve always wanted to try Revolution. It’s right on Main Street, not far from where live, and I’ve heard about the energy, the classes and the community, so I said let’s do it!

I pulled up at 5:45 AM, still waking up but ready, and when I walked in, I immediately felt it. The space was clean, bright and welcoming. The kind of place that removes every excuse before you even start. They really thought about everything from locker rooms stocked with essentials to having cycle shoes ready, so all you have to do is show up and work.

I got my spin shoes on and got into position. My friend Ashley told me we were taking Jessie’s class and that I would love her energy. She was right!

Jessie came over, helped me adjust my seat, and got me set up, and then we started

The room got dark, the music dropped, and it was go time. What I didn’t realize is that this isn’t just a regular bike class. Revolution's ride is built around the beat of the music, so you’re not just pedaling, you’re riding to the rhythm, moving through hills, drills, and choreography that keeps your mind and body locked in the whole time

And that right there made all the difference. The lights shift. The music hits. The instructor is guiding you, and the whole room is moving together. It really feels like you’re part of something bigger than just a workout. They call it a community, and I felt that.

I’m not even going to lie. There were moments I wanted to stop. Your girl was winded, but what I appreciated is that the class is built for all levels, so you can modify and keep going at your own pace without feeling out of place.

And that gave me the push I needed. Somewhere in that ride, I caught my second wind. I locked back in, I pushed through, and when it was over, I felt proud, not because I was the best in the room but because I showed up and finished. That mattered.

What I also loved is that Revolution is not just spin. They offer strength training, running classes, and other formats, so whether you’re just getting back like me or already locked into your routine, there’s something there to meet you where you are

But more than anything, it was the energy

Ashley made sure I kept my word

Jessie gave me exactly what I needed at 6 AM to start my day strong

And Revolution gave me a space that reminded me I can get back to myself

This wasn’t just a class for me. This was a reset and I’m just getting started.
