Toys R Us Closing All Stores Has A Greater Social Message
All Toys R Us and Babies R Us are closing as of this Friday...and that's the news on the surface, according to News Reports. The underlying realization, which it seems no one is talking about, is the fact that kids are not kids any longer = there are hardly any 'real kids' left. Imagine 20 years from now; toys, in general may no longer exist, further supporting the idea that 'kids' are a concept of the past.
Where will kids find dolls, and train sets, and board games, etc. You may be thinking the answer is the Big Box stores or even more appropriately, online. However, the decreased interest in traditional toys is evident, compared to the sales and revenue numbers enjoyed within the video game industry.
