Third Suspect in XXXTentacion’s Murder Arrested
Police continue to make arrests in the murder of XXXTentacion and on Wednesday (July 25), U.S. Marshals apprehended a third man in the case, Robert Allen.
According to reports, 22-year-old Allen was arrested in rural Georgia. The Marshals Fugitive Task Force reportedly found Allen at his sister's house in Eastman, Ga. after receiving a tip. "They got some information he was up in Eastman, possibly staying with his sister," Deputy U.S. Marshal John Edgar said according to Macon.com.
Officers were staked outside Allen's sister's home, although she was cooperative when the authorities came looking for him and arrested Allen. "It was uneventful," Edgar added. "This is a good case."
Allen is now being held in Dodge County and will be extradited to Broward County, Fla. to face murder charges along with Michael Boatwright and Dedrick Williams. A fourth suspect in the case who is believed to have been the shooter, Trayvon Newsome, is still at large as authorities continue to search for him.
XXL reached out to the Dodge County Sheriff's Office for information, but the office was unable to divulge any details because U.S. Marshals made the arrest.
Allen was named a person of interest in late June, after police identified him as one of the men in the surveillance video from RIVA Motorsports, where X was shopping just before he was killed. Shortly after being identified as a person of interest, a warrant for Allen's arrest was issued. He was accused of carrying a concealed firearm and possessing the synthetic drug PVP, which is known by the street name flakka.
Earlier this month, a grand jury indicted the four men in the killing of the Florida rapper. Boatwright, Newsome, Williams and Allen were all charged with first-degree murder with a firearm and armed robbery.
According to police, Boatwright and Newsome are believed to be the two men who were armed during incident and according to the indictment, it was Boatwright who actually fired the shots. As for Williams, who was arrested last month, he is believed to be the getaway driver of the car.
20-year-old XXXTentacion was shot and killed on June 18 in Deerfield Beach, Fla. after leaving RIVA Motorsports. According to police, the rapper was targeted by the four men, who blocked his car outside as he attempted to leave. The two gunmen then jumped out of their car to rob X, who had $50,000 on him. Following a brief struggle, X was shot a few times, resulting in injuries that led to his death later that day.
Hours after the shooting, cell phone video recorded on Williams' phone showed the suspect dancing with $100 bills. Boatwright was also seen flashing several $100 bills in cell phone photos and authorities even found a receipt for more than $400 worth of clothing and shoes thrown in the trash at Boatwright's house.
