For years, Say Yes Buffalo has played an important role in helping students across the city see a future filled with possibilities. From college access and career opportunities to family support and community partnerships, the organization has worked to remove barriers and create pathways to success.

On Friday, October 16, Say Yes Buffalo will bring that mission into focus with its inaugural State of Say Yes, a community gathering at Seneca One that will celebrate the organization's progress, recognize local leadership, and share its vision for the future.

One of the morning's highlights will be a special recognition of New York State Assembly Majority Leader Crystal D. Peoples-Stokes, honoring her years of leadership, public service, and commitment to Buffalo and Western New York.

Peoples-Stokes has long been a champion for the community, advocating for opportunities that strengthen neighborhoods, support families, and help young people succeed. Her recognition reflects the importance of leadership that invests in the next generation.

The event will also feature an Impact Panel bringing together voices connected to the organization's work, along with a special Fireside Keynote featuring Dave Rust, President and CEO of Say Yes Buffalo. Attendees will hear about the organization's journey, the progress made, and the priorities shaping its next chapter.

Another major moment will be the introduction of ONWARD, the Say Yes Buffalo Young Professionals Network, an initiative designed to create new opportunities for alumni to stay connected, build relationships, and contribute to the community.

The organization is also teasing an exciting announcement about the future of its alumni network, giving attendees another reason to be part of this year's gathering.

What makes the State of Say Yes especially meaningful is the opportunity to bring together the people who help make this work possible. Educators, students, families, donors, community partners, and local leaders all have a role in building a stronger Buffalo.

As Say Yes Buffalo looks toward the future, the gathering serves as both a celebration of what has been accomplished and a reminder that the work continues.

The inaugural State of Say Yes takes place Friday, October 16, 2026, at Seneca One, located at 1 Seneca Street in downtown Buffalo. Doors open at 8:15 a.m., with the program beginning at 8:45 a.m.

Community members interested in attending can register by visiting sayyesbuffalo.org.

For Buffalo's students and families, the message remains clear: opportunity matters, community matters, and investing in the next generation is an investment in the city's future.
