And if you woke up after the sunrise this morning, odds are – you missed it.
Last night, there was a full moon in the sky, but it wasn’t just any full moon. It was big, bright, and…red?
The reddish tint classifies this full moon as a beaver moon.
The BEAVER MOON was in full view on Tuesday across New York State. It reached its peak red hue in the morning hours on Tuesday, approximately 6:02 A.M. EST. The Beaver Moon reaches peak illumination in the morning hours of Tuesday, November 8, at 6:02 A.M. EST.
It was also a total lunar eclipse, and it will be the last lunar eclipse of its type until 2025.
If you missed it, don’t worry – we have tons of pictures for you!
Take a look at the individual pictures below.
12 Photos Of The Rare Beaver Blood Moon Eclipse
The next total lunar eclipse won’t happen until March 14, 2025, but you will be able to see partial lunar eclipses leading up to that day. In May 2023, there will be a “penumbral lunar eclipse” which shows a faint outer shadow on the moon’s surface, but you can see a partial lunar eclipse in October 2023.
It is truly a sight to see if you have never seen one before, but it can also be a struggle to stay up late enough to see it. I mean, how many of us fell asleep way before the Powerball drawing on Monday?
