NYS Infant Childcare Costs are the Sixth Highest in the United States
The headline for this post is accurate. Beyond that, there is even more dispair in NYS regarding childcare and the costs involved, According to News Reports, 'The Economic Policy Institute' conducted a study and found that
"NYS is the sixth most expensive state for childcare in the United States"
The numbers are daunting. The most revealing statistic, in my opinion, is that childcare is considered affordable if it 7% of a person income is affected. However, in NYS, childcare costs are beyond 10% because childcare in NYS is through the roof. There are those (and I agree) who believe childcare costs should not exceed 7% of a person's income.
