NYS Hiring Forest Rangers (DEC Environmental Police Officer)

When I hear the Job Title, 'Forest Ranger' I tend to get an image, based on my only exposure to what a Forest Ranger does or looks like,  and my brain pulls this image:

Upon writing this blog, I 've discovered there's a lot more to being a Forest Ranger than what's seen in any cartoon.  The Title Forest Ranger itself has a more appropriate Title Name: DEC Environmental Police Officer...the Title alone changes the perspective completely.

According to news reports, DEC commissioner Basil Seggos said this,

'DEC Forest Rangers and Environmental Conservation Police Officers are instrumental in protecting wildlife, natural resources, state lands and the people who use them'
