Meet Canisius High School Wide Reciever Denzel Benton [ADRI.V’s The Go Getta of The Week]

Every Week I look to feature and interview a young mover and shaker who embodies the “Go Getta Spirit” and is doing great things for the people and themselves in the Western New York and Southern Ontario community. Having the the blessed opportunity of having my show “The Go Getta Mix” I look to use my platform to acknowledge those people nominated as “The Go Getta of The Week.

Not only do you have to perform well on the field but you have to perform well in the cass room as well! As a senior at Canisius high school Denzel Benton played all four years of football as wide receiver and with much hard work and discipline received a D1 Scholarship to college football for the University of Rhode Island.

“Benton signed his letter of intent at a ceremony Wednesday morning at Canisius High School. Benton, a three year starter had 85 catches for 1,635 yards and 15 touchdowns. He also played defensive back.
This season Benton was First Team All-Catholic, Second Team All Western New York and Honorable Mention All-New York State.
Benton told Two On Your Side's Stu Boyar "Its always been my dream to play D-1 football ever since I was five years old I've always wanted to play D-1 and try to go pro. I mean that's my goal so going to D-1 to Rhode Island I think I have my best chance of being able to play."
