Buffalo, let me ask you something! Who's that ONE person you know who's always making things happen, showing up for their community and putting in the work, even when nobody's watching?

We all know somebody! And I want to hear about them!

Every week, inside ADRI.V's Go Getta District on Power 93.7 WBLK, I'm shining the spotlight on the movers and shakers who embody what it REALLY means to be a Go Getta.

One thing about me, I LOVE celebrating people! Especially those who are out here doing the work, creating opportunities, breaking barriers and making a difference in the lives of others.

Over the years, I've been blessed with platforms that allow me to connect with some incredible people. And one thing I've always believed is that if God gives you a platform, you better use it to do more than just talk about yourself!

That's exactly why Go Getta of the Week means so much to me.

We're celebrating the entrepreneurs building businesses from the ground up, the educators going above and beyond for their students, the community leaders making sure our neighborhoods have the resources they deserve and the everyday people who are simply making somebody else's life better.

And listen, you don't have to have a fancy title, a million followers or a long list of awards to be recognized. Sometimes the BIGGEST Go Gettas are the people whose names you never hear.

That auntie who's been feeding the neighborhood for years. The mentor who's helping young people discover their purpose. The single parent who's working, going to school and still finding time to give back.

THOSE are the stories I want to tell! I believe we should give people their flowers while they're here to smell them. We shouldn't have to wait until somebody reaches a major milestone to acknowledge the impact they're already making.

So here's where YOU come in!

Dress for Success Buffalo is stepping into a new chapter with the opening of its new downtown Career Center. Led by Executive Director Michelle Barron, the organization continues to expand its impact by helping women gain the confidence, career resources, connections and tools needed to achieve economic independence.
