There has been a long-running debate over can you wear white after labor day. I have heard so many different theories on why people are not allowed to wear that color after September 4th. There is still no official rule as to why you are not allowed to wear white after Labor Day, according to, the rule was created to separate old money elitists from the new money group. For those people who had money and can afford to leave town during the warmer months, white was considered vacation wear. There are a few different old rules that apply to wearing white. I found that nowadays with today's generation that rule is being left in the past for the most part, but there are some people that are considered "old-school" and they still live by the rules from the past.
