Every Week I look to feature and interview a young mover and shaker who embodies the “Go Getta Spirit” and is doing great things for the people and themselves in the Western New York and Southern Ontario community. Having the the blessed opportunity of having my show “The Go Getta Mix” I look to use my platform to acknowledge those people nominated as “The Go Getta of The Week”.

The Go Getta Of The Week on December 19  was Justin Barker aka "CutsByJay"

This is what separates the "CutsByJay" Movement from anything else related to a barber you may know. Hailing from Buffalo, NY, he is the second oldest of four siblings born to a single mother. Never having anything come easy, forced him to develop a work ethic and discipline that pushed him to excel in whatever he put his mind and will to. As a boy and young man he was able to take care of more than just himself.

A loyal friend, brother, cousin, "CutsByJay" always was one to extend a supportive helping hand. He began working with his hands young in multiple trades from hospitality to masonry. He eventually found his way into the world of barbering where his whole world changed...

B&B Barbershop in Buffalo, NY is where he received his first chair and marked the beginning of who we know now as "CutsByJay". In the following 6 months, he sharpened his skills and after learning all he could at B&B, Jay moved to a larger shop in the city known as Chop-A-Fellaz. With growth always the goal in regards to the "Art" of Barbering, he deemed it necessary to take his Talents to the Next Level.

There he spent the next 7 years perfecting his craft and building a large clientele. Managing clients and scheduling became one of his biggest Challenges. It became a hot topic amongst his clients and friends about how hard it was to get a cut from Jay without an "Appointment". Some weren't too happy but they quickly understood why he was in such high demand, recognizing how important time is to people; setting an appointment would allow for structure and professionalism. As a result people would turn down other barbers with open chairs just to sit and experience the Movement that is "CutsByJay"...

He now can be found  at Sean's House of Masters, where the "CutsByJay" Movement continues to expand across the Nation......
