Buffalo Girls Can Build Their Future with YWE Academy

Parents, if you've been looking for a program that goes beyond keeping your daughter busy after school, this is one you'll want to check out.

The Young Women Empowered (YWE) Academy is getting ready to open applications for its upcoming Buffalo chapter, but before they do, families are being asked to attend a Virtual Interest Meeting to learn what this next season has in store. According to the organization, anyone who can't attend live will be required to watch the recording before submitting an application.

And from the sounds of it, this year's program is taking things to another level.

After listening to feedback from students and parents, YWE Academy is introducing a new format designed to help girls discover their passions while learning real-life skills that can shape their future.

Tuesdays will focus on the Academy's Empowered Girl Curriculum, while Thursdays become Major Days, where participants can choose from five different pathways based on their interests.

Instead of everyone following the same track, girls will have opportunities to explore entrepreneurship, the arts, podcasting and music production, community leadership, skilled trades, and other hands-on experiences through local community partners.

But one lesson every participant will share? Learning how to build wealth.

Every girl in the program will learn about homeownership, real estate, and what it takes to purchase property, including attending a live housing auction to see the process firsthand.

The mission is simple: raise wealth builders and world changers, not just future employees.
