5 Western New York Pizzerias that need to be reviewed by David Portnoy
Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy reviews pizza with the catchphrase “One Bite. Everyone Knows The Rules.” It's a pretty simple concept, and it has taken the internet by storm.
Long story short, Portnoy ate a slice of pizza daily for over two years. He told Men's Journal:
Before, I’d order a pizza for dinner and eat the whole thing. Now I eat a slice and get it out of the way. It’s made me eat less.
It started as a contest between friends and turned into a full-blown viral internet sensation. Portnoy has been here to Buffalo to review its unique style of pizza, and he has made it clear that he is not a fan of Buffalo Style Pizza. As a known Patriots sympathizer, he also isn't a fan of our football team, The Buffalo Bills, but that's a story for another day.
Back to the Pizza. Portnoy came to Buffalo back in 2019, and he visited La Nova on Ferry Street. Here's his review:
He wholeheartedly disagreed with the claim on their box that they were "The #1 Pizzeria in The United States".
He may not have been a fan of La Nova, but there are a few other places around WNY, that we think he needs to try.
