Cashless tolling at the Grand Island Toll Plaza will begin March 29th, announced Governor Cuomo.

According to WKBW On March 30th morning commute, you won't have to wait in line, or hold up the line searching for spare change or asking the car behind you for a dollar. Grand Island toll booths will no longer accept cash payment.

Drivers with E-Z Passes will automatically be charged, while drivers without passes will receive a bill in the mail within 30 days. The bill will be mailed to the registered owner of the vehicle.

The cash toll will remain $1, and New York pass holders will still get their five percent discount.

In August 2017, crews installed cameras and sensors called "gantries" on the Niagara Thruway that will read E-Z Pass tags and take photos of license plates.

Existing toll booths will be removed in phases.

By the 2020 there will be cashless tolls on the entire 90
