February in New York State's second-largest city is a pretty busy month. Not only are people in Buffalo fighting to keep going through our tough winters, but there are also tons of activities happening surrounding both winter break for the kids and Black History Month.

Buffalo's place in Black History, specifically, and American history in general, cannot be overstated. Over the years, there have been so many important people and events that have a deep connection to Western New York. Given the history that exists in Buffalo, it's fitting that a new and building fashion movement in Western New York's Black community is expanding to the region's flagship theater.

For the past few years, Buffalo Fashion Runway has sought to raise the bar for how fashion is seen and experienced in Buffalo and Western New York.

To help accomplish this, BFR's premier event, Black Carpet Three, is taking over the big stage at Shea's Buffalo Theater on Saturday, February 28, 2026, for an event that will leave you in awe.

As part of Shea's 100-year anniversary celebration, and in partnership with the John R. O'Shaughnessy Foundation, they are pulling out all the stops this year to help close out Black History Month.
