Scandinavian Folk Festival

Eat Swedish meatballs with lingonberry jam and Norm’s “Korv” burgers (a sausage burger) served on rye. Just don’t enter the “Wife Carrying Contest” afterward. Jamestown’s Swedish Specialty Store sells pantry items, cheese and ethnic staples like pickled herring and lingonberries.
Hamburg BurgerFest

Buffalo Brunch Festival

The 2017 debut sold out quickly, as the Outer Harbor capitalized on the nation's love affair with brunch.
Lebanese Festival

Grape leaves, chicken and beef shawarma, falafel, hummus, tabouli and more. Not only is this festival healthy, your vegetarian/vegan/gluten-free friends have plenty to choose from.
Eden Corn Festival

Fresh picked daily, corn is boiled then drowned in butter. Also noteworthy: Weidner BBQ chicken and clam chowder at the American Legion’s clam stand.
Erie County Fair
Aug. 8-19, Hamburg Fairgrounds; ecfair.org
Taste of the Fair is Aug. 13, where select vendors offer $2 items. As the Fair gets closer, check the website for the Food Showdown contest to vote on your favorite crazy foods.
German-Polish Celebration
