A Buffalo Gem: The African-American Cultural Center
As I browsed The Challenger Community Newspaper website, I saw an ad with a number of Stage Plays listed. One of those Stage Plays stood out, for me, because it's not only one of my favorite books of all-time, it's also a Classic American Novel. The Play & Novel I'm referring to is 'Native Son'. The Richard Wright Classic will be performed On-Stage inside the Paul Robeson Theatre (Jan. 18 - Feb. 10, 2019), which, according to the African-American Cultural Center website, is the 2nd Oldest component of the Center.
The Paul Robeson Theatre is the second oldest component of the African American Cultural Center.
It was founded in 1968 to nurture and showcase the talents of African American playwrights, producers, directors, actors and stage technicians in the City of Buffalo and the surrounding Western New York region.
Despite what I've shared with you here regarding Native Son, it is far from the extent of everything The African-American Cultural Center has to offer. Among other Plays scheduled inside the Paul Roberson Theatre, there are a plethora of other areas within the African-American Cultural Center venue to experience.
