What is the ‘Middle Main Street’ Project?
The City of Buffalo has all kinds of major public works projects scheduled to happen and since there is always a lot of talk about what is, or isn't, happening in the City, I thought this project would be good to highlight.
This year the City is moving forward on a major streetscape project to rehab Main St. from Goodell to Ferry. Essentially, the idea is to remake everything along this section of Main St. From trees, sidewalks, and lights to water, sewer, electric, and other utility lines. The general idea is to take steps towards a much safer roadway that will for people to drive, walk, bike, and improve the quality of life for everyone who comes into the area.
All along the City has been engaging stakeholders and residents all along the streetscape route to determine what was really important to them and what should be updated.
According to the plans so far, the City would like to be finished with the designs by this fall. You still have a chance to talk about what things should look like and how your tax dollars are spent. This Survey is seeking additional opinions.
You can complete the survey here, it should only take you about 5 minutes, but you need to hurry. The last day to fill out the survey is August 28th.
