Meet Derrick Parson!

Brooklyn native Derrick Parson uses the term  Social Entrepreneur  to describe himself as he builds brands under his company  The Parson Group LLC. He is the founder of The Black Diamond Society™  , an endeavor which revolves around three core principles, Philanthropy, Entrepreneurship and Networking. Leaving Brooklyn, NY for college he attended the University at Buffalo and attained his BA in Caribbean Studies as well as a Paralegal Certification. He then went on to receive his MS Ed. in Educational Technology with a concentration on Distance Learning where shortly after he began developing an array of online college credit bearing courses at Bryant & Stratton College. Although very fulfilling, Derrick’s true passion lied in creating and developing his own businesses. From co-founding the first student owned and ran college moving business called “Two Men and A Big Truck”  which moved Buffalo college students belongings to/from NYC, to developing a web design agency to his newest initiative,  The Black Diamond Society™  , Derrick truly believes in creating self-worth and self-wealth.
Derrick believes in giving back and he does this locally by sitting on various committees that directly work to serve the youths of the Buffalo community. The National Black MBA Association and their Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) program ran out of McKinley HS, T.E.A.M. E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N. Leadership Development Program ran through the Rho Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and “Success Looks Like Me”  an initiative conducted by  The Communities of Giving Legacy Initiative (CGLI) a facet of  The Community Foundation of Buffalo  which introduces youths to people of color in top level positions in an array of jobs, are just a few of the committees that Derrick sits on and ways that he devotes and gives back with his time, talent and treasure.
Derrick feels his journey has only just begun, with plans on developing a technology based educational firm and magazine, a lifestyle store and lounge suited solely for larger and taller framed men, as well as becoming a super connector, connecting people to help achieve dreams, at the age 33 he has no time to rest.
