For years the first Saturday after Thanksgiving the Buffalo Convention Center would turn into the place where over 1000 people would come dressed in their throwback gear, platform shoes, bell-bottom pants and, big earrings ready to get down to music from the decades going back to the 70s.

According to WRGZ, there will be a website for party goers to visit from 8 p.m. till midnight showing videos and great moments from 1979 right up until last year. Founder Dave Pietrowski said it's important to keep going, one of the main reasons is we donate more than $300,000 to Camp Good Days and Special Times.

Our whole mantra here was two-fold, the first was to keep the event alive in everyone's mind, and the second was to raise money that we are traditionally giving to them, so we are selling T-shirts and selling sponsorships and song sponsorships.

said founder Dave Pietrowski, according to WGRZ

I've been to The World's Largest Disco, it's a great idea to keep the event going, even though it's going virtually. You can watch the event this Saturday at wld2020.confrencecontent.net
