8-Year-Old Has Autographed Football Stolen in Buffalo, New York
Over the weekend, Micah Hyde of the Buffalo Bills held a charity softball game. But it was something that happened off the field that has fans angry.
Every year Micah Hyde holds a charity softball tournament (aside from the Covid years) to help raise money for Hyde's IMagINe For Youth foundation. He invites a bunch of his teammates and they put on a show for the fans in attendance.
This little boy was all ready to go. His name is Decker and he traveled 6 hours with his dad Justin to check out the event and support his favorite team.
There were conflicting reports of what had happened. Some fans were saying that it was a grown adult who snatched the football. Others were claiming it was an older kid. Either way, he was devastated.
Fans immediately jumped in trying to get Josh Allen's attention or to offer him things that they had signed by him. But Hyde did his best to make it up to him on his own. He gave him his very own signed softball and a mini helmet.
Micah Hyde thought it was important to still hold his annual charity softball game shortly after the terrible tragedy that took place just miles from the stadium where it was held. He thought it would help bring the community together and be something positive.
A portion of the proceeds also went to help the families of the victims of that tragedy.
