Outdoor Concerts Can Be Held Safely In Buffalo
With Memorial Day approaching, so are the summer concerts and now that vaccinations are increasing in New York State, things are looking good for all of the outdoor concerts here in Buffalo to start again. According to eriecountynews.com, "8 Great Tuesday" is ready to draw crowds to the waterfront this summer. Erie County leaders believe that concerts can be held safely during the pandemic, but there is still some risk to be concern about.
It has been determined by public health officials that outdoor events are generally safer than indoor ones, state and federal guidelines support that belief as well. There are other highly transmissible variants out there that cause some concern for people, but healthcare professionals say, get vaccinated and enjoy the return of outdoor events.
Case totals are dropping nationwide but in Eire county, there has been a slight uptick, and with the warm weather on the way that may not bring any more relief. Healthcare professionals agree that as long as people here in Western New York continue to get vaccinated and if we can get and keep our infection rates low, we will have more and more outdoor concerts.
Some Of The Outdoor Concerts Happening This Year
Pattie LaBelle is coming to ArtPark in Lewiston in June and Canalside has some concerts scheduled as well. Darien Lake is also starting to schedule events. I think that this summer is going to feel more normal as things start to open back to full compacity and people more comfortable coming out.
