New Yorkers are being warned not to eat pasta after the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service issued a public health alert. Another day, another recall! Yippie! Groceries are more expensive than ever and could potentially kill you. We're living in great times!

There was just a tuna recall in New York due to listeria contamination concerns. Western United Fish Company, doing business as Annasea Foods Group of Kent, Washington, has issued a recall for its Kirkland Signature brand Ahi Tuna Wasabi Poke, according to the Food and Drug Administration. The recall is due to possible Listeria contamination. The crazy thing is, it's not actually the fish that is putting consumers at risk - it's the green onions.

Pasta Sold In New York Recalled Due To Health Threat

Four people have died and 19 others have been hospitalized due to the recall. The pasta recall is for ready-to-eat meals containing pre-cooked pasta that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Listeria monocytogenes is,

"An organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can lead to serious pregnancy complications among pregnant women."

The pasta at the center of the recall was sold at two popular retailers in New York - Walmart and Trader Joe's.
