New School Group Needs Your Help To Clean Up Around Neighborhood
Now that spring has arrived, there are going to be so many people out and about in the Buffalo area. One of the man complaints of winter in Western New York is all the dirty and grime that is left on the streets after all the snow melts.
A group of community organizations is partnering with a new charter school to clean up around their school building and here's an opportunity for you to help make the community look a little better after that long winter.
Persistence Preparatory Academy is a new charter school that is opening on Urban Street and Moselle Street in Buffalo and they are partnering with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of WNY, The Buffalo Urban League, The African Heritage Food Co-op, Masten District Council Member Ulysees Wingo, and Fillmore District Council Member Mitch Nowakowski for the All Hands on Deck neighborhood clean up.
On Saturday, May 1st, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the community is asked to come out to 378 Urban Street to help clean up the neighborhood around the school building. Volunteers will be provided lunch and the first 100 people who arrive will receive a food box full of produce.
If you're going to volunteer, the group asks that you pre-register with them, by Wednesday, April 28th, so they can ensure that they have enough supplies. If you have any questions, or you want to pre-register, you can call 716-235-1520 or you can send an e-mail here.
