The best part of the holiday season (aside from time with loved ones) is the food. And the parties.

You know what I'm talking about. You can't get together with anyone this time of year without a nice meal, some sweets and lots of drinks. I've been sharing my Invisalign journey with everyone, talking about how Owl Orthodontics is getting me straight, since June. So naturally, I'm getting questions about it now.

I've got to switch aligners every few weeks, so they are a little tight when I start a new aligner but it never gets too bad because you take it out when you eat and drink. The difference is so noticeable — everyone comments on how my gap is getting smaller.

Dr. Walla and his staff are easy to talk to (we even talked about he pair of Jordan Retro 3s I had on), and he suggested I keep a few things on me when I have parties and events this month, just to make sure I stay on track:

  • Invisalign case
  • Travel toothpaste/toothbrush
  • Floss/floss picks
  • Lip balm for chapped lips
  • Sugar-free gum/mints

Whenever you take out the aligners, you're supposed to brush your teeth before you put them back in, so this little emergency kit makes it easier to put the aligners back in when I'm leaving a spot. Sounds simple, but it makes a big difference, and I'm glad my Owl Orthodontics team was looking out for me.

If the aligners end up being out more than they're in, I'm just supposed to wear them for a few more days than originally planned before I switch to the next aligner. Dr. Walla would rather the Invisalign is worn a tad longer rather than not enough.

And Dr. Walla knows his stuff. I’m not bragging about Owl Orthodontics, but they’ve treated more Invisalign cases than anyone else in Western New York. They are fast--as soon as I check in at my appointment, they are ready to call me back. And they are great with patients of all ages.

If you're ready to start your Invisalign journey, or even if you're just a little bit curious, give them a call at 832-1550 or check them out at owlortho.com. They have six convenient locations in Amherst, Williamsville, Clarence, Grand Island, Depew and Buffalo, so there's bound to be an office near you.
