Summer Tech Day is Building Buffalo’s Future One Student at a Time

When we talk about investing in the next generation, it has to go beyond words. It has to look like opportunity. It has to look like access. And most importantly, it has to look like our young people seeing themselves in careers they may have never imagined.

That's exactly what's happening at Summer Tech Day, presented by M&T Bank, BCAT, and Beau Fleuve.

On Friday, July 31, students ages 12 to 16 are invited to spend the day exploring the exciting intersection of technology, creativity, engineering, and the arts. From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at BCAT, 368 Sycamore Street, participants will experience hands-on workshops designed to inspire the next generation of innovators. Best of all, breakfast and lunch are included, making the day both educational and accessible for families.

What I love most about this event is that it doesn't put students in a box. It recognizes that technology touches every industry and every passion.

Whether your child is interested in music, design, gaming, robotics, or engineering, there is something here for them.

Students will explore:

• Music Production
• Virtual Reality
• Visual Arts
• Robotics
• Creative Coding
• 3D Design & Printing
• Engineering Design Challenges

The lineup also features professionals who are actively creating in these spaces, giving students the chance to learn directly from people who have turned their passions into careers.

As someone who believes in creating pathways instead of barriers, I know experiences like this can change a young person's perspective. One workshop, one conversation, or one hands-on activity can spark an interest that turns into a lifelong career.
