If you're an entrepreneur, aspiring business owner, or simply someone who believes in the power of economic empowerment, you need to be in the room!

I'm excited to share that I'll once again have the honor of serving as the host for Bold Moves Only II: Built 2 Scale, Buffalo's premier Black Business Month Conference. After experiencing the energy, connections, and inspiration from last year's event, I can confidently tell you this is one event you don't want to miss.

This year's conference is getting even bigger. And if you attended last year, its about to be event better.

On Saturday, August 1, The Exchange at Beverly Gray is bringing Bold Moves Only II to The Statler Buffalo, kicking off National Black Business Month with a full day dedicated to helping Black and Brown entrepreneurs build, grow, and scale their businesses.

What makes this conference different is that it's not just about motivation, it's about action.

Throughout the day, attendees will have access to breakout sessions covering branding, marketing, accounting, finance, public relations, grants, funding opportunities, legal protection, trademarks, podcasting, media, artificial intelligence, fashion entrepreneurship, cannabis business, and construction and contracting. Entrepreneurs will also have access to onsite LLC registration, legal assistance, a vendor marketplace, and networking opportunities with business leaders from across the country.

One of my favorite additions this year is Bold Moves Jr., a youth entrepreneurship experience where young innovators will have the opportunity to pitch their own business ideas. As someone who believes in creating opportunities for the next generation, I love seeing young entrepreneurs included in conversations about ownership and wealth creation in todays world.

And then there's the evening part that is going to take it up a notch.

The conference will welcome John Hope Bryant, Founder and CEO of Operation HOPE, for an exclusive fireside chat. If you've followed his work, you know he's been one of the nation's strongest voices for financial literacy, economic mobility, and closing the racial wealth gap. His message has impacted millions, and now Buffalo has the opportunity to hear directly from him.

Joining him will be an incredible lineup of entrepreneurs and innovators, including:

  • Denise Woodard, Founder & CEO of Partake Foods
  • Sevetri Wilson, Founder & CEO of Resilia and ProsperAll
  • Harold Hughes, Founder & CEO of NFNTE Capital

There are additional speaker as welll.

The Exchange at Beverly Gray continues to prove what's possible when an organization is intentional about investing in entrepreneurs. Over the past six years, they've supported more than 800 founders while building a network of more than 1,300 entrepreneurs throughout Western New York.

Their mission goes beyond helping people start businesses. They're helping founders create sustainable companies that build wealth, strengthen neighborhoods, and transform communities.

That's why events like this matter. Business ownership changes families and creates jobs and it builds generational wealth. It gives people the opportunity to own their future instead of simply working for someone else's.

As someone who's passionate about entrepreneurship and believes our city is full of innovators waiting for their moment, I'm proud to be back as your host for another year.

Whether you're launching your first business, looking to scale your company, or simply searching for your next opportunity, this is where you need to be.bI'll see you at The Statler on August 1. Let's make bold moves, together.
