5 Buffalo Teens Arrested for String of Armed Robberies
Five Buffalo teens have been arrested in connection to armed robberies in WNY.
The robberies occurred in Buffalo, Amherst and the Town of Tonawanda. According to WKBW, they targeted Muslims. Jaylan Holliday, who is 18-years-old and a 17-year-old have been charged with first and second-degree robbery. The two teens allegedly opened a victim's car door while she was parked outside of a convenience store on Niagara Street in Buffalo. Police say they punched the victim, then stole her wallet. The incident happened on July 30.
Holliday has also been implicated in the attempted robbery of a gas station on Bailey Avenue in Buffalo. The clerk had a weapon and was able to scare Holliday off. Martez Smalls, who is 18-years-old and a 15-year-old are accused of stealing a cell phone and wallet from a victim in Tonawanda on July 27. They, along with a 16-year-old, also allegedly brandished a gun and robbed four Muslims in Amherst. In that incident, they allegedly stole cellphones and wallets. They stole two vehicles, one of which was later involved in an accident as one of the suspects tried to flee police.
