Buffalo Bills Ground The Jets 23-20
Two long-time rivals in the AFC East met for the 128th time for what ended up being a very hard-fought battle in the Meadowlands. The Buffalo Bills traveled to East Rutherford, New Jersey, to take on the New York Jets on Monday Night Football.
The more these two teams face each other, the more you can tell the current iteration of both football clubs do not like each other.
The game started quickly as the Jets took the opening kickoff and drove down the field to put the first points on the scoreboard with a Greg Zuerlein field goal.

The Bills didn't waste any time responding. The team took the ensuing possession and drove down the field to make space for Josh Allen to run for a 1-yard touchdown.
From there, the Bills and Jets went back and forth, scoring touchdowns and field goals to go into the half-time break, with the Bills leading 20-17. The first half ended epically, with Aaron Rodgers tossing a 52-yard Hail Mary pass to Allen Lazard as the clock expired.
The second half continued with both teams racking up a lot of penalties. There were so many penalties in this game that the two teams have tied the NFL record for most accepted penalties in a single game with 22. Those penalties also cost both teams a total of 204 penalty yards.

The game might have ended differently if the Jets' Greg Zuerlein had not missed two field goals by hitting the goal post upright. This game was very much up in the air until a key defensive play that the Bills were able to pull off in the fourth quarter.
Bills Defensive Back Taron Johnson grabbed a last-minute interception from Aaron Rodgers that sealed the deal for Buffalo, giving the Bills their seventh all-time victory over the Jets.
This 23-20 victory over the Jets gives the Bills a 4-2 record and sole possession of first place in the AFC East.
The Bills now look forward to hosting the 1-4 Tennessee Titans on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York.
