As the hometown Buffalo Bills prepare to wrap up the 2024/25 season, they return home to Orchard Park to host the New York Jets in their 129th meeting since 1960, when the Buffalo Bills began professional play. Over the last 65 years or so, the Bills have dominated the Jets, and it seems that trend has continued for another season.

The Bills started scoring early and often, as the team capped off its first scoring drive with Josh Allen taking the ball into the end zone for a 1-yard touchdown. That score happened in the first quarter, which, while it was the only score in the 1st fifteen minutes of the game, wasn't the last one.

The Bills then poured on the points as AJ Epensesa sacked Aaron Rodgers in the end zone, earning a safety for the Bills Defense, and the Tyler Bass was able to kick a Field Goal on the ensuing drive after the Bills received the ball again after the sack.

Leading the game 12-0 going into halftime, the team turned down the Jets even more in the third quarter as the Bills put up three touchdowns. Amari Cooper snagged a 30-yard pass from Josh Allen in the end zone to score a TD; James Cook followed up just four minutes later with a 1-yard scoring run, followed by a 14-yard Keon Coleman touchdown reception just 63 seconds later.

The Bills started the fourth quarter with a 33-0 lead as the team pulled most of the started on both offense and defense.

That lineup change finally gave the Jets enough advantage that they were able to finally put points on the board when former Bills QB Tyrod Taylor was able to throw two touchdown passes to Garrett Wilson and Tyler Conklin, but that was not before Bills backup QB Mitchell Trubisky was able to toss a short pass to Tyrell Shavers who then took the ball 69-yards to the end zone, capping the longest pass play for the Bills this season.

When it was all said and done, the Bills made sure the Jets stayed on the tarmac with a big 40-14 win in Orchard Park. This victory gives Buffalo a 13-3 record and positions the team to lock in the second seed in the 2024/25 NFL Playoffs.

Now the team looks forward to NFL Week 18 when they travel to Foxborough, Massachusetts, to face the New England Patriots for the last regular season game of the year.
