With the NFL being the most popular sport in the world, it's important for the entire league to put out an entertaining product week after week.

One of the highlights of every NFL week is Monday Night Football, which features two teams playing in prime time under the lights. On average, more than 20 million people turn in to watch a game that the entire league seeks to highlight.

This past Monday, October 14, 2024, we saw a battle between two AFC rivals who were fighting for control of the AFC East, with the Buffalo Bills traveling to New Jersey to take on the New York Jets.

Both teams were penalized 11 times each, with the Bills losing 94 yards and the Jets losing 110 yards.

In his post-game interview, Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers commented that the officiating in this was a little ridiculous, even calling the Roughing The Passer penalty Bills linebacker AJ Epenesa received when sacking Rodgers a bad call.

... Some of them seemed really bad, including the roughing the passer on me... That’s not roughing the passer. We might as well play Sarcastaball if we’re going to call those things. I thought the one on Kinlaw was not roughing the passer, either.

ESPN has gone as far as to call the officiating embarrassing while taking time to break down some questionable calls that plagued the entire game.

While the Buffalo Bills ultimately won, the NFL must improve the officials' play.
