The politics bug is floating all over the country. It's causing temperatures to rise and forcing people to go all in for their favorite candidate or most concerning issue. It's impacting people from east to west and north to south. From the President of the United States to the local commissioner of highways and transportation, by all accounts, the 2024 election season is turning into a frenzy.

When this election season ends at the end of the day on Tuesday, November 5th, it's going to start all over again for 2025.

Here in Western New York, 2025 is the year that Buffalo will get a brand-new mayor. But Buffalo isn't the only city that may have a new mayor next year, and someone with a famous connection to Buffalo is looking to go Beast Mode on the political class in his hometown.

While talking to sports agent Doug Hendrickson and current California Governor Gavin Newsom on his Politickin podcast, retired NFL star running back and former Buffalo Bills player Marshawn Lynch discussed the real possibility that he would seek to become Mayor Beastmode.

According to Politico, Lynch is considering seeking the top job in his hometown of Oakland, California. California Governor Newsom encouraged Lynch to run.

Current City of Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao is embroiled in a scandal that may result in her being recalled and removed from her position. The FBI has raided her house, and a large percentage of Oakland's population is protesting against her.

KRON-TV in San Francisco says Lynch has only a 7% unfavorable rating in Oakland, which could bode well for him if he chooses to run.

Is America ready for Mayor Beastmode? We'll just have to wait and see.
