
Buffalo Police Offering Rewards In These 9 Unsolved Cases
Crime Stoppers WNY is offering various rewards for information leading to the arrest and conviction of suspects in these unsolved homicide cases and for these wanted suspects. Since January 1, 2025, there have been seven shootings in Buffalo. Three people have died as a result of these shootings, with five people injured, including one suspect.
- January 30, 2025 - Edison Ave and E. Delavan Ave - one victim injured
- January 24, 2025 - 72 Pennsylvania St - one victim killed
- January 19, 2025 - 1200 block of Clinton St - one victim injured
- January 19, 2025 - Delavan Ave and Roslyn St - one victim killed
- January 18, 2025 - 300 block of Perry St - one victim killed, one victim injured
- January 9, 2025 - Wilbury Pl - one suspect injured
- January 1, 2025 - 300 block of Fillmore Ave - one victim injured
Unfortunately, this number will grow throughout 2025. Homicides seem to increase in Buffalo and Western New York once the weather breaks and the warm weather hits. According to WKBW, in 2024, there were
- 125 shooting incidents
- 153 shooting victims
- 30 shooting homicides
- 38 total homicides
There was a 20 percent increase in shooting homicides from 2023 to 2024. Overall, there was one less homicide in 2024 than in 2023. During the pandemic, in 2021 and 2022, there were the most homicides since 2019. In 2021 there were 59 shooting homicides and 66 total homicides. In 2022, there were 59 shooting homicides and 71 total homicides.

1. Homicide Victim: Doug Howie
Reward: $2,500
Doug Howie was killed on September 10, 2024, on Newland Avenue in Jamestown.
2. Homicide Suspect: Jorge Borges AKA Tony
Reward: $7,500
Jorge Borges is a suspect in a murder that happened on June 22, 2023, on Tonawanda Street in Buffalo.
3. Homicide Victim: Alvin "Duke" McDowell
Reward: $7,500
Alvin "Duke" McDowell was killed on January 1, 2017, at 15 McNeely Way in Buffalo.
4. Illegal Guns
Reward: $1,500+
Crime Stoppers WNY is offering a reward of $1,500 for tips that result in the seizure of illegal firearms. A $100 reward will be added for each additional weapon recovered.
5. Wanted: Jovanta Hill
Reward: $2,500
Jovanta Hill is wanted on a federal bail violations warrant in Buffalo.
6. Suspect(s) Wanted: Doug Howie
Reward: $2,500
A $2,500 reward is being offered for the arrest of the person(s) responsible for a hit-and-run incident where a pedestrian was hit on Delaware Avenue near Hertel Avenue on February 19, 2025.
7. Suspect In The Murder Of Jaylen Griffin
Reward of up to $7,500
Crime Stoppers WNY is offering a reward of up to $7,500 for information about the murder of Jaylen Griffin. His remains were discovered on April 12, 2024, nearly four years after he disappeared. Jaylen's body was found in a home on Sheffield Avenue in Buffalo.
8. Suspect In The Murder Of Antonio Watts
Reward of up to $2,500
9. Suspect In The Murder Of Tiffany Carden
Reward of up to $7,500
"Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $7,500 for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the homicide of Tiffany Carden. Carden was killed in May of 2021 on Bissell Ave in the City of Buffalo."
