33 People Were Arrested In Niagara County This Week

Police in Niagara County spent the past week arresting people accused of crimes. Niagara County is made up of quite a few cities, towns, and villages, including the City of Lockport, the City of North Tonawanda, the City of Niagara Falls, the Town of Lewiston, the Town of Lockport, the Town of Wheatfield, and the Village of Youngstown.

This week in Niagara County, deputies were busy. Two people were arrested after a car chase with Niagara County Sheriff's Deputies. On Monday, February 24, 2025, at 8:36 pm, a Niagara County Sheriff's Deputy observed a truck with an Equipment violation driving on Upper Mountain Road in the Town of Cambria. The vehicle was suspected to be involved in several hit-and-run accidents in Lockport and Amherst. The deputy tried to pull the vehicle over for a traffic stop, but the driver fled instead. The deputy chased the vehicle through the City of Lockport, where the pursuit eventually ended on East Ave. The driver, 26-year-old Elexus J. Rodriguez-Raines, was arrested and charged with,

- Two counts of Criminal Mischief 2nd (Felony)
- Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd (Misdemeanor)
- Obstruction of Governmental Administration 2nd (Misdemeanor)
- Resisting Arrest (Misdemeanor)
- Reckless Driving (Misdemeanor)
- Numerous Vehicle and Traffic Law violations

The passenger, 36-year-old Shawn K. Pittler, was arrested for resisting arrest, as well as Obstruction of Governmental Administration.

Last week, 14 people were arrested. This week, the number is up to 33. The individuals below have been charged with a variety of crimes.
