The Buffalo Bills season is inching ever so close. Just two and a half weeks before the Bills play the Rams in Los Angeles on Thursday Night Football (Sep. 8th).

The Bills' offense and defense have looked great at training camp and in the preseason. The offense and defense were both in the top five last year in the NFL, with the defense being number one.

That defense will rely on the likes of Ed Oliver, Von Miller, Matt Milano, Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde.

They will also rely on number one cornerback, Tre'Davious White, who is not yet back on the practice field.

White had ACL reconstruction surgery a few days after Thanksgiving last year and is still on the PUP list (physically unable to perform).

There's been optimism White would be cleared to practice during camp and before the preseason ended, but time is ticking away. There's only one preseason game left and 17 days before the week 1 game against the Rams.

The way PUP works is if a player who is on PUP, remains there after the 53-man roster cutdown (which is Tuesday, August 30th), they are on the "reserve PUP list." That means the player must miss the first four weeks of the NFL season, before being eligible to be activated.

With White not even practicing yet, it's close enough to the deadline next Tuesday to see if the Bills decide to keep White on PUP or activate him. The good news is the Bills have not signed a veteran CB, which may indicate they expect White to be activated very soon.

I would air on the side of caution if White isn't ready by the end of this week. He's too valuable to the team to rush him back and I rather have him miss an extra month than chance it if he's not 100 percent.
