Today’s The First Day of Early Voting
Even though election day for the 2021 New York State general election is Tuesday, November 2, 2021, starting today you can cast your vote early.
Starting today, Saturday, October 23, 2021, at Today at 12-noon, 38 locations in Erie County and two locations in Niagara County will be open to give you a chance to vote early.
Back in 2019, then New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature worked together to pass a new law that brought early voting to New York. This was one of a few steps that have come into effect over the last couple of years to make voting easier throughout New York state.
I love that we now have so many opportunities to be able to vote. In Erie County alone, there are 618,864 people registered to vote and I truly hope that we all take our civic duty seriously enough to go out and vote over the next 10 days.
We have all of the details you need to know to vote early right here, including voting locations and hours of operation.
New York state makes voting really easy too, even with all of the COVID-19 rules, and during the early voting period, you can visit any location in the county in which you live.
When you do go out and vote, don't forget to flip your ballot over because there are at least 5 ballot initiatives that need to be voted on. These initiatives represent potential changes to the New York State Constitution and they need your input.
