With the passing of Don Cornelius there are and will be a number of tributes, specials and no telling what coming to the surface over the next few weeks or so. I had the opportunity to watch the television show as a child and can remember the “soul train gang” wearing the most outrageous clothes (and sometimes costumes), shoes, props, hair styles, dances and just the fun and excitement that the television show always seemed to transmit to the viewing audience.

Although then, nothing really seemed out of the ordinary because it was a “sign of the time” as Prince would say. But one of the most important things that this television show did was document the African culture, innovativeness, and entertainment brilliance like no other as we look back and share the memories of Soul Train with today’s generation.
