Take Part In The Great American Cleanup In Buffalo This Weekend
There is an open invitation to the Buffalo community to help clean up the Queen City this weekend during the “Great American Cleanup”.
This year’s event to help beautify our city will kick off from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday (June 12) at Lincoln Park (Peck Street side) according to WIVB-TV.
Everything you need as a volunteer will be provided for the effort, including vests, sunscreen, water, bags, and other tools.
If you are interested in participating in the June 12 cleanup or if you want to host your own cleanup more information and registration can be done by emailing the Division of Citizen Services at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Buffalo has been participating in the Great American Cleanup program every year since it started in 1999.
The Great American Cleanup® is a program that unifies and beautifies communities across the country in a grassroots spring-cleaning movement. This year celebrating its 23rd year, the most recent Great American Cleanup created opportunities for millions of volunteers with impressive results – picking up millions of pounds of litter, cleaning over 100,000 acres of public spaces, and tens of thousands of miles of roadways and shorelines.
The Great American Cleanup is an opportunity for community-minded individuals to take greater responsibility for their local environment by conducting grassroots service projects that engage volunteers, local businesses, and civic leaders. A successful Great American Cleanup project fulfills the needs of the local community; and challenges local community and business leaders, as well as other key stakeholders, to gain knowledge about a community’s needs and then to carefully select and execute appropriate projects.
