Sexyy Red Leaves Mark On Erie Summer Fest
Everywhere you turn, there is news about a new concert, event, or show happening in the region. All over Western New York and Southern Ontario, 2024 is turning out to be a concert season for the record books.
Artists of every genre are coming through the region, and it has been giving people all sorts of options to be entertained.
Those entertainment options aren't limited to the 716, 585, and 905. The first-ever Erie Summer Festival took place in Erie, Pennsylvania, and featured several big-name hip-hop and R&B artists.
In addition to Sexyy Red, who headlined the festival, other top hip-hop artists, including Tay Money, Mooski, and Rob 49, hit the stage.
The show opened with several artists that are local to the Erie, PA, area, like Slim Sadie, Jizzy, T-Rell, and Amanda. The first national artist hit the stage once the local artists and support wrapped up.
Tay Money hit the stage with a ton of energy and had the crowd singing along, talking all about poppin tags. Tay is no stranger to rocking stages as she was recently a top contender for the XXL Freshman nod a few years ago.
DJ Xplosive took the stage for a few minutes to keep the crowd's energy up right before Mooski took over.
Reminding people what happens when you deal with a runner and a track star, they run away when things get hard. The crowd, of course, sang right along with Mooski.
The Snowman himself, Jeezy, took the stage right after, and the U.S.D.A. member did not disappoint the crowds one bit. The Thug Motivation 101 rapper ran through some of his biggest hits from several of his albums, including The Recession, TM103, Church in These Streets, Trap or Die 3, and several others.
Fatman Scoop took the stage in a move that caught many by surprise. As one of the most recognizable voices in hip-hop, the crowd enjoyed themselves quite a bit as they rocked back and forth.
This, of course, primed everyone for Rob 49 to take over and bring things right back to the streets. Boasting a brand new song featuring Cardi B, the New Orleans Krazy Man had got the crowd nice and ready for the headliner of the night.
Hip-hop fans far and wide know that when they hear "It's Sexyy," it's time to get ratchet, and believe me when I tell you, Sexyy Red did just that.
Known for her booty-shaking music, the 26-year-old St. Louis rapper had the crowd inside the Erie Insurance Arena rocking hard.
The inaugural Erie Summer Fest did not disappoint. If you missed it, don't worry. Several other great shows, events, and concerts are on the way in 2024. Our 2024 Concert Guide has a complete list of more great events on the calendar this year.
