Tacos And Tequila Festival Returns To Terminal B With Better Flow

The atmosphere was a little different this year at Tacos & Tequila Festival, and I’m not mad at it!

Last year, I remember the lines and the traffic. This year, getting in was smooth. The food vendors were together, the bar area was easy to navigate, and WBLK was on the ground meeting, greeting and hanging with the people. The festival returned to Terminal B with T.I., Too $hort, Trina, Chingy, Petey Pablo, Ying Yang Twins, Yung Joc and DJ Ashton Martin on the lineup.

By the time we made our way toward VIP, the stage was already running it up. We missed Petey Pablo and the Ying Yang Twins, but we caught Yung Joc, and you already know what happened when “It’s Goin’ Down” dropped! He also has classics like “I Know You See It” and “1st Time,” and those records immediately take you back to that mid-2000s era. He also ran back his performance at the after party too!

Then Trina hit the stage.

Listen, we already know who Da Baddest is!

Trina looked beautiful and took me right back with records from a catalog that helped define women in Southern hip-hop. And yes, the rumors were true, her husband joined her onstage to perform too. I wasn’t mad at it! Listen, if we’re touring, everybody can get this check. Keep it in the family!

Then Too $hort came out and made it very clear what his favorite word was, and how Buffalo needed to say it like Short! With his classic videos playing behind him, he showed exactly why his music has survived generations.

DJ Ashton Martin kept the party moving before it was finally time for Mr. Him!

T.I. is my favorite, so I was READY!

He took us through the catalog, and when “Live Your Life” came on, I almost lost it. That song hits differently when you really listen to the message. Then he got into the newer records, including “Let ’Em Know,” and I was good! T.I.’s official festival bio even highlights “Let ’Em Know” alongside the classics that built his career.

Traffic moved MUCH better than last year, and the additional police presence helped everything flow.

Tacos & Tequila returned to Buffalo with a smoother setup, plenty of throwbacks and a lineup that had us going from Yung Joc to Trina, Too $hort and T.I.
