The off-season is officially over for the Buffalo Bills.

The team kicked off training camp with a morning practice at St. John Fisher University in Rochester on Sunday.

Before the first practice, head coach Sean McDermott had his annual pre-first practice press conference with the Buffalo media and had some important injury updates.

One injury the fans and media were not aware of was new guard, Rodger Saffold.

McDermott said Saffold was in a car accident and suffered injured ribs. He will start training camp on the Non-Football Injured list.

McDermott did add that he thinks Saffold will be back in “due time.”

Cornerback Tre’Davious White, guard Ike Boettger and defensive tackle Eli Ankou will start camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list, more commonly referred to as PUP. White is recovering from a torn ACL, as is Boettger.

As for the Bills players on the field on Sunday, it was an excellent day by all accounts from the defense. Newly signed defensive tackle Tim Settle intercepted fellow new Bills player Case Keenum in 11-on-11 drills, which was the highlight of the day.

Fans had a warm welcome for Josh Allen and Von Miller, as well as Jordan Poyer, who has his agent Drew Rosenhaus at camp. Rosenhaus and general manager Brandon Beane will be discussing a potential contract extension, as Poyer has one year remaining on his current deal.
