Police Ready To Charge George Zimmerman in Trayvon Martin Case

Sources close to the story in Sanford, Florida are saying a press conference at 6:00 pm EST will announce that charges will be filed against George Zimmerman in the shooting death of 17 year old Trayvon Martin.

The parents of Trayvon Martin are also planning to hold a press conference at 7:00 pm EST.

This story grabbed national headlines after police initially decided not to press charges on Zimmerman because of the controversial "Stand Your Ground" law in Florida even though the 911 operator specifically told Zimmerman not to follow Trayvon. Moments later Martin was dead and Zimmerman claimed self defense.

George Zimmerman has all but disappeared after being released from police custody on February 26th. Just yesterday lawyers for George Zimmerman announced they are no longer representing him due to the fact that he has not been in contact with them in weeks.
