
Suspect Leads New York Troopers Through WNY At High Speeds
NYSP chased a suspect through WNY and arrested a few other people. New York State Police Troopers have been busy in Western New York. They made three major arrests over the past week.

Suspects Lead NY Troopers On High-Speed Chase
On February 7, 2025, around 1:20 pm, New York State Police Troopers tried to pull over a 2024 Audi driving eastbound on the New York State Thruway in Batavia. The driver refused to pull over and gave chase. The vehicle moved from the I-90 to I-490 east. The vehicle entered the City of Rochester, so NYSP Troopers stopped their pursuit. New York State Police Aviation continued to follow the vehicle, which stopped on Arnett Blvd near Genesee Street in Rochester. The driver and two occupants of the car were taken into custody. Charges against the three individuals are pending in the case.
Texas Man Arrested For Sex Crimes In WNY
The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation out of SP Lockport arrested a Texas man on rape and child pornography charges. On February 8, 2025, 22-year-old Javier A. Vasquez of Weslaco, Texas was arrested for 6 counts of Rape, 4 counts of Criminal Sex Act, 2 counts of Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, and Criminal Obstruction of Breathing and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. A report of a sex crime was reported to the Bureau On April 25, 2024. NYSP investigated the report that Vasquez allegedly had sexual relations with a female under the age of 17. Vasquez had left WNY, so NYSP worked with law enforcement in Texas to locate him. He was extradited back to NY on February 7 and remanded to the Niagara County Jail.

Suspect Arrested With Stolen Gun In Niagara Falls
NYSP Troopers arrested 20-year-old Isaiah B. Hunter of Niagara Falls on February 8, 2025. He was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Resisting Arrest, and Obstruction of Governmental Administration. Troopers were helping officers with the Niagara Falls Police Department and attempted to stop a vehicle driving on Pine Avenue. While the vehicle was still traveling Hunter jumped from the vehicle and ran from the scene. After a brief chase on foot Troopers located and arrested Hunter. Three other people in the car were detained by officers. Troopers used a drone to search the area where Hunter ran and found a loaded Smith & Wesson 9mm with a high-capacity magazine on a roof. The weapon had been reported stolen in 2006. During the traffic stop police received another call about the theft of a PS5 Play Station near the location. Hunter and the gun fit the description used in the alleged robbery. Hunter was taken to SP Niagara and processed.
