Niagara Falls, Ontario, Soon To Be Known As Las Vegas Of The North

One of the key and great benefits of living in Western New York and Southern Ontario is that we have one of the seven wonders of the world right here in our backyard. The mighty Niagara Falls is one of the major claims to fame that we have on this end of the state of New York and the province of Ontario, and those of us who know are in the know, love every bit of it.

However, because it's right in our backyard, it sometimes seems like we can forget how amazing the cataract is.

However, after a major announcement from Ontario Premier Doug Ford, our neighbors to the north have major plans to ensure that millions more people from around the world make Niagara Falls a household name.

Many people around the world know how great it is to visit Niagara Falls, whether you're coming for the views of the water or to frequent some of the other tourist amenities. This place has been a destination for many years. That, though, is not enough for the people of Ontario, and if the new Destination Niagara Strategy is fully implemented, Niagara Falls, Ontario, will see billions of dollars in development in hopes of doubling the annual visitors to the Canadian side of the Falls.

Niagara is home to the world-famous Niagara Falls, one of the most iconic tourism destinations on earth, along with a host of world-class restaurants, wineries, hotels, cultural events and so much more... Our Destination Niagara Strategy will unlock the region’s full potential, supporting workers and creating new opportunities for tourists and families from Ontario and around the world to come and experience the best that the region has to offer.

There are several initiatives on the table to improve Niagara Falls, Ontario, including:

• Expanding the Niagara Region Airport to allow larger commercial jets to land in Niagara Falls,
• Adding a twin Garden City Skyway Bridge & adding more lanes to the QEW into the Niagara Region,
• Building several more, and bigger, world-class casinos to make Niagara Falls 'Las Vegas North',
• Adding a streetcar / public transit service to help people get around Niagara Falls,
• Building additional hotels that will expand visitor capacity,
• and several other initiatives to create thousands of new jobs.
