Niagara Falls’ Mighty Waves Illuminated In Blue After Election Day
As the election results come in from America's Mid-Term elections, the nation is coming to the new reality that there is going to be a lot of change happening around the country. From sea to shining sea, there has been a lot of commentary from all over the United States about the state of the election and who would be taking power at the various levels of government.
Locally in the Empire State, the preliminary results are in, and it looks like the incumbents in state office have remained in power, in many cases grabbing large vote totals against their opponents. While the final results won't be fully certified for a few weeks, by all accounts New York Democrats won big victories against the Republicans.
That also seems to be the case across the nation, as the Associated Press is reporting that Republicans are having a hard time in many places where they would normally do well. Some people who are in tune with politics have been predicting a blue wave, and it seems that we have one, figuratively and literally.
Was Niagara Falls Illuminated In Blue On Election Night?
Every night the mighty Niagara Falls are illuminated in various colours to represent various causes or other things to celebrate. Using massive LED bulbs that are placed at the top of the Illumination Tower near Queen Victoria Place, on the roof of the Table Rock Centre, and from deep in the Niagara Gorge, the Falls can be seen in all sorts of colours.

Well, at least according to a post on Threads from Niagara Falls, Ontario, it seems that Canada has decided to take the Blue Wave literally and set the lights to show the mighty waves of Niagara Falls in blue.
It's no secret that the United States and Canada have been at odds lately since President Trump and the Federal Government have taken on an odd and seemingly haphazard trade policy with our closest neighbor.
Now, the official illumination schedule says the Falls were scheduled to be lit in teal from 10 p.m. to 10:15 p.m., but many pictures posted to Threads show the Falls looking more blue than green. In any event, if the Falls truly were illuminated in blue this evening for the election by Ontario or Canada, it would be a fitting bow on the present voters have given the Democrats in New York and beyond.
