Keith Sparks, who stabbed his ex-girlfriend Mallacia Tipps to death in September of 2019, has been sentenced, according to WIVB. Sparks has been sentenced to 20 years to life in prison for the murder, which happened inside the Sears store at the Mckinley Mall in Hamburg.

Authorities say that Sparks followed Mallacia and her friend to the mall.  He confronted her in the parking lot, where he tried to shoot her, but his gun malfunctioned.  Mallacia ran into the Sears store, where he then stabbed her. Police took Sparks into custody in Niagara Falls, according to WKBW.

Erie County District Attorney John Flynn said,

“The victim ended up in the Sears store, Mr. Sparks ran after them and followed her in the Sears store. At that point, confronted her, and pulled a knife out and stabbed her.”

Mallacia left behind three teenage children.
